The firm is among the leading firms in California regarding issues of renewable energy and independent power, having represented independent energy firms regarding qualifying facilities contracts and utility compliance with PURPA, FERC regulation including Electric Wholesale Generator status and market-based rate authority, utility power procurement and resource planning, asset divestiture, operation and maintenance standards, market restructuring and a variety of other issues. In addition, ES&H represents clients on natural gas issues, including natural gas ratemaking, interconnection, transportation, storage and supply reliability.
