Turlock Irrigation District Walnut Energy Center

Turlock Irrigation District's Walnut Energy Center is a highly efficiency 250-megawatt, natural gas-fired, combined-cycle generating facility located west of the downtown portion of the City of Turlock, in Stanislaus County. 

In the brief, the District presents its arguments on the issues of Air Quality, Land Use and Security.  The project was approved on February 18, 2004 and began commercial operations in February of 2006.
