Water
The Ellison Schneider & Harris water practice group focuses on California water rights law and all related areas of natural resources law, including water quality, endangered species, and environmental law. We emphasize problem solving. Based on extensive experience in the field of water law, our philosophy is that the complexity of water problems is best addressed through problem-solving and negotiation, not litigation.
The water practice group regularly represents clients in local, state and federal administrative proceedings, and in state and federal courts. We have worked on complex resources issues involving the full panoply of agencies including: the State Water Resources Control Board; Regional Water Quality Control Boards; California Department of Fish and Game; California Department of Water Resources; U.S. Bureau of Reclamation; U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service; U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; National Marine Fisheries Service (NOAA Fisheries); California Public Utilities Commission; and various regional, county and city governments.
